Rito is our featured grower from La Cayetana, Honduras. Rito's coffee married with the coffee of our other growers produces this smooth and mellow brew.
It's hard to have dreams when you're standing in the dirt. That's where Rito was 6 years ago when he sold his coffee crop for $95 dollars. With a dirt floor in his house and no access to clean water his children were often sick and survival was a struggle. At Growers First, we supported his vision of a better future. We provided micro-credit loans and training to improve his coffee crop. Then, we gave him the best price for his coffee by trading directly with his co-op. This year, Rito made $1500 from his crop. His house has a cement floor, and a well that provides clean water. Rito has hope. And his dreams now have a solid foundation.
